OPNA Neighbor Home Recognition Awards

OPNA has a longstanding tradition of recognizing the efforts of our members and neighbors who have taken strides to enhance their property, curb appeal, functionality or other home improvements.  In that spirit, we are pleased to announce the opening of the 2023 OPNA Home Recognition Awards.

If you have a neighbor that you think has done an outstanding job in one of our award categories, nominate them by filling out the form at the bottom of this page and clicking submit. Once all nominations are received (deadline is September 20), OPNA will send our members a survey via email to vote for all nominated members.

Awards/Categories

Rosecliff Award: Nominate the neighbor that cultivates an amazing landscape for all of us neighbors to enjoy, or who has made dramatic achievements with overall improvements to their landscape.

Hickories Award: If you have a neighbor that has taken great pains to maintain, preserve and/or improve their home within the context of remaining true to its historic architectural nature, this is the award for them!

Rock Bluff Award: Did your neighbor complete a remodel, home improvement, new construction, and/or addition in the last two years? Do you think it “rocks” and is an example of why Overlook Park is such a great place to live? Nominate them for this award.  It won’t be just large investments that will be considered—projects of all sizes will have a chance for their time in the sun!

Special Recognition Awards: Know a neighbor that deserves recognition for a project that doesn’t fit into another category? We’ve set aside these Special Recognition Awards to highlight their efforts.  Here are a few categories that you could consider:

  • Kid Zone Award: presented to a member that’s made a special place for learning, playing or sharing for the younger crowd to enjoy.

  • Sustainability Award: Celebrate and share your neighbor’s ecofriendly efforts like rainwater collection, solar or wind energy, over-and-above recycling efforts, etc.

  • Hidden Gem: If you know of a great spot that most people don’t get to see, but gives you the feels when you’re there, nominate the owner for this award.

  • Victory Garden: Who is that neighbor that shares the fruits of their labor with you? Yes, a vegetable garden can be its own reward, but there’s nothing wrong with showing people you notice how much goes into getting so much back
